What Is The Gas Booster Compressor?

Nitrogen does not react with the molten metal when the laser heats the surface to high temperatures during cutting operation. Oxygen must be excluded from cutting zone to prevent the metal from oxidizing or discoloring.

The Gas booster compressor is a 2 or 3 stage compressor that allows to store Nitrogen at between 16 to 350 bar pressure. Having the Nitrogen stored at higher pressure maximizes the stored gas for the manufacturing plant.

Compressor requires around 5 bar inlet pressure and raises the pressure up to 350 bar. It’s important to have gas compressor that having a filtration on inlet to catch any particles going to the compressor system. A high quality compressor with good warranty period is preferred for this operation to avoid any breakdowns on the system.

There are two different systems when it comes to storing Nitrogen in higher pressure.

1- Using ready nitrogen gas

This system requires ready nitrogen gas at 5 bar to feed the gas compressor. After pressure is raised by the gas compressor, nitrogen is stored in high pressure tanks to be used in manufacturing operation.

2- Generating nitrogen gas

This system has more elements than just having a compressor. Nitrogen will be generated from atmospheric air by generator which consist of a screw air compressor, filters, air dryer and storage tanks. Generator separates the Oxygen from the air and stores the nitrogen gas to be uses in high pressure gas compressor. This completes system gives manufacturing plant more power since they are not depending to get the nitrogen gas from outside.
